Blogs Versus Articles For SEO

By Neel at 2010-02-25 00:04:54
Writing online is not for everybody. You need good grammar and an understanding of topics that interest people. Communicating your ideas in understandable, concise wording is also important. Additionally, you should understand a little about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) so people can find the information you present. However, what really matters is the quality of the content.

Blogs give all their content away for free. Any revenues are generated by advertising revenues or referral to another business activity. Subscription websites usually require members to pay to get access to their premium content.Today there are around 50 million active blogs. It is estimated that less than 500 of these make sufficient revenue to give one or more people a full time income.

You need an email newsletter in the case where you think that relationship management is a must for you business. This story didn't change much. With a newsletter you are able to give prospects and clients valuable information that is not otherwise available. The newsletter should continue news, but also updates and other product information or discounts. Success stories may be included, etc, etc.

Forums are usually (not always) a little more free-for-all. Effective ones generally let members start their own topics and allow other users/members to comment on whatever they decide to post about. A great use for this is for a software company that allows their users to post issues they have with their products. Some times all the QA /testing in the world can't bring out some of the bugs or issues that users can find.

Now back to Microsoft Office. It is likely that you will begin with a fresh slate rather than taking text from an existing document, so open a new blank Word document. If you do have text already simply open that file instead. You will then want to click on the 'File' menu in the upper left hand corner of Word where the Office logo is located. Choose 'Publish', then click on 'Blog'. After clicking 'Blog', Word will ask for you to register your Blog websites with user id's and passwords.

However, answering the second part of your question, how much value is it - I think a blog doesn't have much more value than a website if it just sits there. If you update content to it every day, which is nice and easy to do on a blog just because of the way it's set up - you can literally add a paragraph every day and have some dynamic content pretty easily, then it makes it easy.

Unlike some typical content websites, a blog releases content on a fairly regular basis. Some popular blogs update daily or even multiple times per day. Podcasts are typically released on a weekly or monthly basis, though some also release a new podcast daily. When subscribing to a blog or podcast you know that you will be getting fresh content, unlike websites which may have articles and information that is months or even years old.

Getting started is not as hard as you think. Many blogging platforms offer free web hosting. Two popular blog hosting sites are WordPress and Blogger. Customizing your blog to your needs is not a chore when you have ready-made templates to help you. Each site offers step-by-step instructions to help you get up and running in no time.

Word press makes it really easy to tag your blog. Tagging a blog means that your keywords are tagged and picked up by popular pinging services like technoratti. A tagged blog is more readily available for users searching for your particular content. Tagging a wordpress blog is extremely simple. Create categories based on your keywords. When you publish your articles on your blogs select the specific categories that related to your articles.
