In order to produce optimized source of information for detailed searches, use long tail keywords for your websites. Long-tail keywords can provide more site traffic than the short tails. Never generalize your keywords if you want your site to be directed to Internet users. Online searchers are typically detailed and direct to the point. They are not searching for expansive figures but into particular matters. Since long tail SEO are used to narrow search parameters, web sites must be aware of this and should put the two types of keywords into the site content.

Here's how it works. If you own a dental office and want to have your website come to the top of the search engines, you may think you want to stick with keywords like 'dentist' or 'dentistry'. However, they are not realizing those are what all of the other dentists out there are using. On the other hand, you should consider using more specific keywords.

Start on the most popular keyword connected to your site and then read the subsequent results. Pick at least fifty then add those keywords to your list stored for future use.

Ensure your business listings (from local to international) like in Google Maps is jam-packed with useful information, images, videos, podcasts and others. For potential clients in the future, create business listings as effective as possible.Small sites advertising for long tail phrases when combined can provide a larger volume of traffic.

Find other Blogs within your niche to post comments on and/or create posts about (with trackbacks). The most important thing is make sure your posts are well thought out. In other words, make sure you actually have something to add to the post. A few well written trackbacks can open your site up to a whole new audience.

The idea, while foreign to our thinking right now, is actually a sound one that is making its way into everyday SEO tactics. The idea is rather simple; when you identify the keywords that are bringing about 20% or 30% of your traffic and use these keywords to enhance your web content by pairing them in powerful groups, etc. you can take that 20% and increase that niche of your market to where it becomes over 50% of your overall traffic.

In my keyword example, you may have observed that anyone searching for the term "SEO" may be actually looking for any of a number of topics. They may want to know how to optimize their web pages for search engines, or they may want to know how to use a robots.txt file appropriately, or they may be looking to hire an SEO professional. If you are someone marketing SEO services in New Jersey, you probably don't stand a good chance of converting any of those visitors into sales once they come to your site.

You see the flaw with traditional SEO is that the really good keyphrases, the long tail key phrases, really didn't exist. When you're optimizing a webpage for a specific keyphrase - like say "Children's Sunglasses", you're trying to keep the page extremely focused on that particular phrase, so you consciously avoid straying from the focus of the page.
